Holoprojectors: Using lasers to scan a subject, holoprojectors create an organized arrangement of light that can be projectedto appear as 3-D replica of the subject. These holograms are used for communication, information display, and entertainment. The Holo-net communication network allows for almost instantaneous transmissions. Blasters: The most commonly used weapon throughout the galaxy, blasters fire intense beams of light energy that can stun or kill. Repulsorlift vehicles: Antigravitational propulsion units, or repulsors, are used in land and atmospheric vehicles such as landspeeders, airspeeders, speeder bikes, and swoops. The engines are designed to push away from a planet's gravitational pull and create thrust to allow the vehicle to hover as it travels the planet's surface. Droids: Robotic systems with varying degrees of artificial intelligence, droids are used by almost every technologically advanced civilization. Despite their hard work and loyalty to their masters, droids are essentially regarded as appliances without any personal rights, and are not allowed in many public areas.

Man if only we could have this in todays world. What a great telephone that would be. lol

Ya that would be awesome. Thats pretty cool how the vehicles hover. I would of never guessed they push away from the gravity. always thought it was like a thruster

how does the blaster hold that energy in the gun. wouldn't it melt it or something?

Blasters use a mixture of different types of metals and crystals to contain the energy.

how does the blaster hold that energy in the gun. wouldn't it melt it or something? Does your car melt from holding all the energy stored in the gas tank? For that matter, does a plastic gas can melt from holding all the energy stored in the gasoline it contains? Simply storing energy (especially storing it as chemical energy) does not usually create heat.
Blasters use a mixture of different types of metals and crystals to contain the energy. No, blasters contain the energy in batteries (power packs) until it is used, at which point it is used to excite blaster gas, and create the blaster bolt. Granted, the barrel is metal, so for a tiny amount of time as the bolt is leaving the barrel it is 'contained' a bit, in a manner of speaking.

Blaster gas?! lol. No, blaster beams are created with light energy, not blaster gas. The light energy comes from a crystal. Given the gun does act like a car battery, but the energy is stored in a crystal. The crystal is then stored in a metal gun.

WTF??? No, every single thing you said in your post was completely wrong. I could retype quotes out of everything from The Essential Guide to Weapons and Technology to about half a dozen novels, but I think the official databank entry puts it pretty well: It is worth noting that that power packs used to power everything from blasters to lightsabres to repulsor chairs have nothing to do with crystals at all. Where the heck do you get these ideas from?

I concur with Silver, at least on blasters. I'm not sure about other power cores but a Blaster runs off of a power battery and uses refined Tibbanna Gas as ammunition. I've never seen anything that says how long or how many shots you get out of any amount of Tibbanna but it is documented as the ammunition. Although some blaster rifles also use plasma as fuel and there are always the slug throwers. Thats what I've found in my years, through sourcebooks, databases, books, videogames, and everyone I've talked to online and face to face.

Actually...if you want to quote the official databank, read the last sentence. "A prismatic crystal focuses the beam, and passes it through a refinement chamber which "galvens" the beam into its final bolt."

Actually... if you read my post, I was only talking about the power packs, completely independent of what they are powering. There are no crystals in a repulsor chair. You were saying that the crystals were themselves a power source, which they are not (power packs are the power source).
